WPForms Review – Is It Really The Best Form Builder?

WPForms is a WordPress form builder that is super popular due to it's simplicity, and of course marketing.

If you've tried to find a form builder for WordPress, then you can understand what I'm saying.

You can find WPForms on almost all the pages you'll see.

WPForms

But, is it really good or is it hyped? Is the plugin as good as their marketing?

Lets find out!

Before we move on to the complete review, let me show you the highlights.

WPForms Review - Summary

Features

The form has almost all the features that we generally need and it's useful for everyone. You may never need any other form builder ever.

I do recommend it to use.

Support

I haven't personally tested their support as I didn't ever need them but I have collected others opinion and it's not the best but fair enough.

It should be okay!

Pricing

This is where I am not completely satisfied. I've used WPForms Elite plan in the past but I think their pricing is a bit higher than it should be.

Overall rating :  4.33 / 5

I know it's one of the most popular WordPress form builder out there on the internet. It's definitely a good one for most of us. The features it has is almost enough that anybody will ever need and it's super easy to use as it is a drag and drop form builder. Apart from that, it is the only 5 star rated form builder on WordPress repository which is super awesome. That's not all, there is a lot more to it which you can read below in the in-depth review of WPForms.

To build your trust that this is not a biased review let me tell you what I don't like about WPForms at all. And it can really change your decision of buying or not.

"When your license expires, you'll get frustrated with their renew now notification on your WordPress dashboard and it won't even send the security updates for the plugin. Ultimately, either you'll renew the license, or you'll uninstall it to avoid all these issues."

WPForms Renewal Notification

I mean seriously, you have paid a lot for the plugin and they won't even give you security updates once the license expires.  Forget about the new features.

If a person is only looking for a contact form or a lead generation form only then think about it,

Why one should choose it and not a page builder like Thrive Architect with lifetime updates or any WordPress Membership Subscriptions?

However, let me tell you that Thrive Architect is not an WPForms alternative.

To make more advanced forms, you will still need to purchase a form builder. None of the page builders can do that yet.

I personally find it very mean when plugins and theme developers do not even push security updates when the license expires.

The bad news is that, majority of the plugin and theme developers do this and I don't think it's going to change soon.

However, the good news is that some brands are breaking this tradition and providing lifetime updates like Thrive Themes. And for that, I can't stop chanting about them. Looking forward to more brands like them in the future.

I got a little emotional there!

Now lets get back to WPForms as there's not even a single form builder with lifetime updates yet.

I know there are a lot of WPForms reviews out there with 5-star rating and having no negative points or next to none. But I don't trust them. In fact it makes me suspicious about them.

That's why I have decided to do a review of WPForms and all other plugins and services on my own.

I will always keep the reviews unbiased and honest. I'll criticize like no one else have, if I find anything wrong with them. (Constructive Criticism)

I guess you are already in.

Let's dig in deeper what WPForms has to offer for you and whether you should be buying it or not.

Introduction To WPForms

WPForms is the highest-rated WordPress form builder on WordPress plugin repository with over 3 million active installations.

WPForms Review Rating

Of course the ratings are excellent, but it's for their free version of the plugin and personally I don't like it much. The pro is awesome but the free version is so limited and basic.

That makes me suspicious again with the ratings they have on the plugin repository. As far as I know, even the best of the best product will have a 4.9 star rating normally.

Please note that I don't have any proof that they are not real and thus I'm not claiming that they are fake. That would be stupid!

But it looks suspicious to me and we all know that the ratings can be manipulated everywhere, even on Amazon.

I'm not saying they might have done it but we have to keep everything in mind before deciding or assuming.

For example I had received an email from a software company recently where they were asking me to put a 5-star review on G2 and they were offering me some money to do that. Of course I didn't do it but do you think everyone rejected that offer? And please don't ask about the brand name. I can't reveal it but let me tell you that it was a survey software.

Do I use WPForms? Yes!

Why? Because it's good.

It is the most popular drag and drop form builder creating a lot of hype. Not only it's simple to use but comes with tons of features as well that we'll cover below.

Form Templates

Even though its a drag and drop WordPress form builder, some people don't have the time to create the forms from scratch.

That's why they have the option of form templates as an addon. It contains pre-built forms that are ready to go live as they are or with a little bit of tweaks.

For the basic templates like contact form, you don't need this addon. Here are the templates that are available without an addon:

  • Simple Contact Form
  • Newsletter Sign Up Form
  • Suggestion Form
  • User Login Form
  • User Registration Form

And with the form templates addon, you'll get the following pre-built form template:

  • Donation Form
  • Webinar Registration Form
  • Sponsorship Request Form
  • Volunteer Recruitment Form
  • Auction Item Registration Form
  • Baseball League Registration Form
  • High School Reunion Registration Form
  • Performance Improvement Plan Form
  • Equipment Checkout Form
  • Summer Camp Registration Form
  • Wedding Invitation RSVP Form
  • and a lot more.

For now, let's look at the pricing of WPForms:

Conclusion

So to conclude, I would say that WPForms is one of the best go to choice when it comes to a WordPress form builder. It's feature rich and constantly improving. Their support team is good with their job and this form builder will be more than enough for some of the people.

The only thing that I don't like is it's pricing but you don't have a choice here. And of course, you must renew the license each time to use it without any issues.

If you are only looking for a contact form or a lead generation form then I would suggest you to invest on a good page builder like Thrive Architect or Elementor Pro.

However, if you are looking for an advanced form builder that can create a lot of different types of form without any coding, then WPForms is the best bet for you now.

However, it's not a bad choice. Hoping that it would get better in the future or we will have a strong competitor. For now, I would say go for it if you are looking for a form builder.

And let me know what you think about WPForms if you use it already or after purchasing it. Looking forward to your words.
